What types of TV are there out there?

LCD 
This old technology has slowly been overtaken by the superior LED versions.

LED Direct LED
These displays use light emitting diodes for greater contrast and color effects. However in the ever moving world of technology direct LED is now been shoved aside by its cousin edge LED.

LED Edge LED
The edge LEDs are very thin displays and offers superior contrast levels to LCD, but can’t achieve the same quality of picture as directly lit LED sets. However, they are cheaper.

OLED
These displays use an organic light emitting diode, this technique produces greater colours and contrast and also allows screens to be extremely thin and flexible.

Curved

HD

Full HD

Have a higher resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Ultra HD and 4K
Means four times higher than full HD at 3840 x 2160.

HDR
Is the future and has no real content for it right now.

HD or 4K?

4K TVs are slowly increasing their content and most will upscale HD to a better standard of picture. Below 50 inches and Full HD still looks good.

How many HDMI sockets do I need?

A minimum of 3 HDMI inputs.
